“The cost of church based discipleship is of key significance for anyone who wants to make themselves useful for the kingdom of God; both inside or outside the church. DNA is a fantastic tool and resource for individuals and churches to use to see them made more whole and useful. Churches within and outside of Pioneer have used it this way and would commend it, and I commend it to you.”

New Generation, Sidcup

Hey there, we have been placed at New Generation Church in Sidcup.

This church is really attatched to local community and looking for new opportunities to get near to the neighbours.

The vision of the church is to be an authentic church that releases the potential in our community. As a result we are involved in a ton of different activities throughout the week.

Some of the youth work we are involved in is , a parents and toddlers group (sparkles), a kids club (HQ) for 4-11 year olds, and a youth drop-in (Free60). Our aim is to be a passage of salvation and blessing for the youth and their parents as well. We strongly believe that we could see these people being saved!!

Also, we go to nursing homes on weekly basis to meet, entertain and comfort elder people.

Every Wednesday morning we go out doing evangelism which can involve serving the community by doing jobs such as car washing, cleaning the street and shoe shining.

We also do street evangelism activities on the high street including giving out sweets, doing questionnaires, collecting prayer request, etc., which provide opportunities to chat with people about Christianity, church and our own faith.

We are involved in many activities within church as well. On Sunday mornings we serve meeting in a rotation of , Sparkles, HQ , and the Hosting Team. There are also soul groups, prayer meetings(Breakout), community teaching nights, worship nights as well as many more events.

In August the church runs an event called , “Lark in the Park”. It is a two week event in which thousands of people come and hang out up in the park and take part in events that we put on for them. This leads people to get interested in church and Gospel and we invite people along to the Alpha course. We have been involved in this years Alpha course, helping wherever we can, ext. helping with cooking, washing dishes, or sitting at tables chatting with people.

It is going to be a very demanding, busy and challenging year, but both of us are excited to see how it is going to stretch and change us into more like Jesus at the end of this year. We want to be prepared to do anything for the Kingdom of God!!

Love and blessings,
Grant and Green
