"DNA is an extremely well orgamised outfit - efficient, reliable, disciplined, focussed and refreshingly uncompromising in discipling, connecting trainees with contemporary culture, enabling them to grow in character, experience Christian ministry and to understand /think theologically and biblically. This course is of high standard, carefully structured with the support given to the placement discipler and co-ordinator of an equally high standard. As a church, it also introduced us to a model for supporting trainees in ministry for the future."

Submerge, Guildford

Submerge is a student congregation whose vision statement is ‘to be a community who put God first and actively bring the transforming love of Jesus to the world around us’. Submerge is part of St.Saviours church in Guildford. We meet at 3.45pm every Sunday and consist of about 150 youth, students and young adults. I am the only student placed at Submerge this year.

Submerge is a vibrant community which aims to encourage community living throughout the week not just on a Sunday. As part of this we have cell groups that meet during the week and regularly have Submerge football on a Saturday.

I have joined the leadership team at Submerge and amongst other things am involved in the student work, helping at a youth group, and doing some of the admin work.

Submerge have been making links to churches in South Africa both in Durban and in Cape town. As part of their DNA year one of our previous DNA students went on a 3 month mission trip to Cape Town last year. We also sent a team out to Durban last summer and are sending another team out again this summer.
