"Every generation lives with the challenge of pointing people to Jesus. DNA, I believe, can help us do that."

Petersfield Christian Fellowship

Our placement is in Petersfield Christian Fellowship, a friendly church with about 75 members. At the moment we're meeting in a primary school hall, but hopefully we'll soon be moving into the Petersfield Social Club, which is much more central! Petersfield, in Hampshire, is a beautiful (but lively) little market town on the northern slopes of the South Downs, which was once home to the world's first teddy bear museum!

PCF have lots of school links, so we're both getting involved with a lot of youth outreach. This includes Kingdom Kids at Herne Junior School on Tuesdays, and Christian Union at the local secondary school on Thursdays. The CU there has expanded so much that another CU has just been launched there for years 10 and 11 on Fridays!

On Monday nights we lead a Cell group for ages 13-17, held at the King's Arms, a churches-run youth club. The King's Arms was set up to help keep the youth off the streets and stop them drinking - free chips on a Friday night fill them up so much that they don't want alcohol! Another Cell group for the younger kids will also be set up soon, and Crusaders (a.k.a Urban Saints) runs on a Friday night.

Other things we're looking forward to doing are Messy Church once a month (a creative way for families to learn about Jesus), a knitting circle and visiting retirement homes.

On Friday mornings Bethany works at Fiddlesticks Music, a parent and toddler group, making tea and coffee, and eating biscuits. She has also been helping with the catering at Hurst Barn, a church retreat centre, which involves free slivers of any food going.
