“DNA’s intensive and varied style of training produces new leaders who have an understanding of the heart of the matter and how to apply it to a needy world. Theoretical study is combined with practical experience in a context of worship and ministry. Other Christian bodies could do well to look at their model. Long live DNA!”

St. Stephen's, Haslemere
This year I am being placed in my home church of St Stephens. My main area of work is in helping lead the main youth group (Liquid) which is jointly run with 3 Counties church; it is aimed at people between the ages of 14-19. Liquid’s vision is to put ourselves in another person’s shoes, and serve these people as well as we can. To do this, as of recently Liquid has also become more heavily involved in the community offering fortnightly help to anyone who needs it from gardening to grocery shopping. This has been set up to carry on with our summer event called The Wave which was set up by a previous DNA trainee.
Liquid currently takes on youth regularly from 4 different churches, making it one of the biggest youth groups in the area. It has weekly events of Girls and Guys Bible studies, and most Saturdays of Worship School, The Wave, Liquid Christmas Choir and Liquid Youth Meals.
St Stephens its self is situated in what must be called the quiet town of Haslemere, it’s a classically built church and stands proud on a cross roads. It runs two services every Sunday 9 o’clock and the 10:45. It is becoming ever more popular within the community as it works with 3CC in getting Liquid out there to help helping anyone that needs it as well as its own groups which run weekly including men’s and women’s groups.
So far I have been involved in the mentoring of the youth, schools outreach, the churches other youth group Amplified (11-14’s) and the day to day running not only of the youth work, but also of the church. So far I’m loving every moment of it, especially being able to work alongside people I have grown up listening to preach and peoples whose faith I have always admired.
