Getting
stuck into term two at Emmanuel in Loughborough. Organising lots of
stuff for the church- photo fortnight, a Christians In Sport outreach
event, as well as using my impressive cooking skills (ordering 25 large
bags of chips from the chip shop) to feed Alpha guests.
God's
doing some crazy stuff. Off the back of a week looking at mission I’ve
been exploring a call in cross cultural mission which is scary but well
exciting. Feel like God's stripped stuff right down, which is hard work
because the things you’d normally lean on aren’t as stable as you
thought. He keeps saying, “lean on me Lea” and I’m going “yeh but what
if…” but He keeps saying, "lean on me.” I’m getting the message slowly.
High
points have to be seeing a few of my close friends come to know God.
I’ve just being smacked in the face repeatedly by how my friends’ lives
are not in my hands and how much I burden myself with things that
aren’t my responsibility. Again learning to trust God with them.
Another
high point- leading a small group at
the Christians in Sport conference, absolutely awesome time building
relationships with the other football girls and encourage each other to
live for Jesus and witness in our sports clubs.
Unfortunately
I’ve been able to worship God by playing football recently, due to a
foot injury sustained on a night out (alcohol intoxication was not a
factor I might add) I’ve been sidelined. But it's been a great
opportunity to build a relationship with the physio! I’ve been struck
this year by how much it’s about Him and not me. All in all it’s been a
bit of a rollercoaster, but it was always going to be- when the hard
times come I’m learning to press into Him more.
It's a trust thing.
