DNAers at 2008s Spring Harvest
published on 30th April 2008
I had never had any experience of Spring Harvest before and so going to serve in the 8 – 11 year olds children’s work was a very exciting experience for me this year. It was also great to see the Butlins site in Skegness with God at the centre of it all.
I had been looking forward to the week for quite some time and after the process of signing up over the internet it was all worth it because it was an awesome time.
Serving on the kids team was a one off experience to say the least, to be honest I think that you have to be a bit nutty to do it. But if seeing children learn about God, worship like I have never seen kids worship, be filled with the Holy Spirit, come to a deep commitment in relationship with Jesus and much more you have to be nutty; then I am up for being a constant nutty person!
Personally at the beginning of the New Year I had prayed that I wanted the opportunity to be a part of the miracle of leading some people to Christ this year and at Spring Harvest I got that opportunity to lead 6 kids from a group of a whole 83 to become Christians!! What a privilege it was. Also I had many other opportunities to share my story and hear many children’s stories, good and bad, and to be able to encourage and help and pray for them. It was a great time and I am very thankful that I had this privilege to help God make an impact in the children’s lives. I realised that these children are the future of the church and how great it is that we can help them in their journey with God.
On top of that I had great fun at Butlins, I was looked after well with food and good accommodation and I made many friends. I will be hopefully be going back to serve on team next year because it was a wonderful experience.
