What has God been doing in you on your DNA year?

If someone was to ask me this question, I think the first thing I’d say is that He’s given me space, or, perhaps, He’s helped me to see that there has always been space. What do I mean by that? Well, I feel like I’ve been given permission, even challenged, to be fully myself, without comparing myself to others or worrying about what people think. And God is showing me that there is space to be all the different parts of me even if they don’t always all seem to add up! I have been reminded of issues I am passionate about but had pushed under the carpet for a while. I have also been encouraged to step out into new opportunities and use the gifts God has given me, especially relating to creativity.
In contrast to my university experience, I’ve feel like I’ve got space to learn, think and question things, without the pressure of having to come to firm conclusions straight away. Through both the personal study and talks from a huge range of people on the training blocks, I am enjoying hearing and reading about different perspectives and experiences and praying about how what I’m learning now can shape the rest of my life.
So far this year has been about identifying and letting go of unhelpful attitudes or beliefs I held about myself and about God and Christianity. In their place God is revealing truths to get excited about and to build my life and faith upon.
