News on Germany international trip.....

A year ago I would never have thought that I could have managed to go abroad without my family, having had a history of agoraphobia for 8 years. Throughout DNA God has given me plenty of challenges, but I always saw the two week international trip being the biggest one to occur.

My destination was Germany, in a city called Herrnhut, where I stayed in an international house of prayer, called ‘Jesus Haus’.

As a team our timetable involved youth work, leading morning devotions, evening worship, doing restoration work and a weekend trip to Poland doing children’s work.

Early on God released an old passion of mine of singing. He gave me the confidence that I have lacked since being ill to sing up front in the worship band, which released such passion and devotion in my worship to Him.

One of my biggest highlights was when we went to a YMCA youth group, where I had a picture of a boy wearing a black tshirt and a black back-pack who needed to know that Jesus loved him. Having never had a picture like this come true before I didn’t think much of it, but as we were waiting for the youth to arrive I was gobsmacked to see that the first boy who walked in had the exact same description as my picture. I left there thrilled to see a massive smile on his face after telling him what God wanted him to hear.

Prayer and worship sum up what the Jesus Haus community are all about and that has been something God has really spoken into my life while being there. To worship first above all things and then God will give you blessings from it. There have been so many blessings in Germany, that God has blown me away. I’m so thrilled with what God has helped me to achieve and will treasure the experience for a very long time.
