Sue Rinaldi Q & A

So Sue, what sort of church do you go to?

I am part of a network of churches called Pioneer. They are often under the category of 'new church'...which means they have only been around for the last 30 years, are not part of a historic denomination, usually flexible in structure and try to adapt their shape as culture changes.

What do you do for a living?

I am mainly involved in music and communication, as a singer-songwriter, worship co-ordinator, speaker, teacher and writer.

How have you come to do what you do now?

I have always loved music and writing songs. So at a very early age I started playing the guitar and singing, and giving concerts using some of my own songs. Everything has grown from there. It's been step-by-step, from local to regional to national to international.

What ambitions do you have for your life?

I would love to write more songs that capture people's hearts....and I would love to write regular columns in mainstream magazines...thoughts on life, culture and human behaviour!!

Singing and playing to hundreds of thousands of people must be nerve wracking but must also have the opportunity of embarrassing moments. Can I ask what is your most embarrassing moment?

There have been so many!! I think falling over on stage in front of a few thousand people during a concert! I had a shortish skirt on and went flying, legs in the air!! MMMm..so uncool!! Note to self...don't dance backwards near foldback monitors!!!

Apart from the Bible, which book has most affected your life?

I love reading...and always have about 6 on the go at once. A book that has affected me deeply is Brennan Manning's 'Abba's Child' about being beloved of God, and finding your identity in who you are in God's eyes and not in what you do.

What piece of music means the most to you?

So many....but one song always cuts deep, 'That I Would Be Good' by Alanis Morissette...great lyrics and great performance.

Apart from Jesus, which person in history you'd most like to meet?

OOOOOh.....Joan of Arc.....Sojourner Truth (an American civil rights activist) and Anita Roddick, the Body Shop Founder! Can the three of them meet me for a drink??

We'll see what we can do!!
