Pall Singh - Q & A

written by Pall Singh
published on 15th December 2004

Pall, what sort of church do you go to?
I'm involved in pioneering a new expression of Church called 'Sanctuary', a gathering for British Asians and others to explore Christ in a safe place where people can experience God.

What do you do for a living?
I'm the director of east + west trust which is equipping Churches, organisations and individuals about reaching British Asians for Christ in creative ways. We organise various east west events, the Sanctuary gatherings and partner with other mission agencies in the UK.

How have you come to do what you do now?
After many years in youth work and evangelistic ministry with Solihull Christian Fellowship; God impressed on me the need to reach the 'Goodness Gracious Me' generation with the Gospel in Birmingham. These are the 'sari & trainers' fusion young people who enjoy both cultures, the east and the west, as seen in the 'Bend it like Beckham' movie.

What ambitions do you have for your life?
By God's grace to be the best dad to my kids and a caring husband. I would love to see new expressions of Church for Asians across this nation which has a strong sense of community. To train and motivate young Asian leaders for mission in the UK and others nations with a culturally relevant gospel that will transform the Sikh, Hindu and Muslim community with the grace of Jesus. To see Asian places of worship become communities for worshipping Christ, without people losing their cultural identity. To see a fresh expression of worship in this nation that has a fusion which draws from the east and west to experience God's presence and power. Maybe make a film one day on the life of a great Indian saint? watch this space.......

The Deep Jale CD by ARADHNA
